A Pocket Full of Etiquette
I created these resources for teaching etiquette to teens when I hosted an etiquette dinner for my own teen's Classical Conversations Challenge I Protocol. When I was planning and researching, I couldn't find the specific resources to distill what I wanted them to know into a simple, relatable format. These printables were born from my own need, and my hope is that they will not just be a useful teaching tool for you, but that they will connect the dots for teenagers as to why we care about etiquette: because ultimately it is an expression of the Christian virtue of justice: giving to each their due. Bottom line: etiquette is NOT about making yourself look good, but about showing courtesy and putting others at ease; love in action.
Our motto from Latin is Suaviter in Modo, Fortiter in Re, which means "gentle in manner, firm in action." It is used to describe being polite and diplomatic while still being assertive.
